The Women in Building Recognition Award recognises women who have made a positive impact in the industry. The Award was established in 2007 by the Women in Building Group, and the Award is presented each year at the Master Builders Excellence in Building Awards.

Ashley Barnes, 2024 Women in Building Award winner, is a construction professional with a background in architecture and project management. She has delivered projects like QT Newcastle and East Maitland Aged Care and now leads the Gunnedah Hospital Redevelopment, focusing on sustainable design and community impact.
Katherine is Contract Administrator with a demonstrated history of working in the construction industry. She is extremely passionate about promoting female presence within the construction industry, and is interested in sharing her story to provide support to students considering a career within construction.
Joanne Lever is a qualified engineer with 18 years of experience delivering landmark projects across NSW. A passionate advocate for community impact and STEM, she mentors through programs like HunterWiSE and Engineers Australia's Girls Talk.
Lauren Coates has 20 years of construction experience, starting in structural steel drafting and mechanical engineering before specialising in pre-contracts at Daracon Group. She is a respected mentor and valued team member.
